My Current Non Negotiables for a Good Week

There’s something comforting about having a few things in life that are set in stone.

Not in a rigid way. Not in a perfectionist way. But in a way that makes you feel anchored.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what actually makes a week feel good. Not just productive or busy, but genuinely good. The kind of week where you feel clear headed, steady, and like you’re moving forward without burning out.

And I realized it always comes back to the same few non negotiables.

These are the habits I return to when I want to feel like myself again. The things that make the week smoother, calmer, and more intentional.

Here are my current non negotiables for a good week.

1. Planning on a Sunday

My week begins on Sunday.

I sit down with a pen first, before any apps, and I time block my week on paper. There’s something about physically writing it out that makes it feel real and manageable.

Once it’s mapped out, I go into my calendar app and plug everything in.

It’s simple, but it changes everything.

When I don’t plan, I feel scattered. When I do, I feel like I’m walking into the week with direction.

Sunday planning is my reset. It’s my way of telling myself, this week is yours.

2. Being Fully Stocked and Consistent With My Vitamins

This one is personal, but it matters.

I’ve learned that I feel so much better when I’m consistent with my vitamins. It’s not even about doing the most, it’s about doing something small every day that supports your body.

I would rather take more than not be consistent at all.

It’s one of those habits that feels invisible in the moment, but over time it adds up. It’s a quiet form of self respect.

3. Movement Every Day, No Matter What

Movement is non negotiable for me right now.

Not in an intense way, not in a pressure filled way, but in a grounding way.

My baseline is a 30 minute walk with Bentley, twice a day.

That alone changes my mood, my energy, and my mindset.

I’m also currently trying to find a balanced workout routine that I can do from home. Something sustainable that supports my body and my life, not something that takes over.

4. Church on Sundays

On Sundays, I go to church.

It recenters my mind toward what’s important. It allows me to disconnect from my problems, step outside of my own head, and focus on something bigger

It’s not just a routine, it’s a reset.

I always leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is pause and reconnect.

5. A Mini Audit With Myself

This might be one of the most important ones.

I do a mini audit on myself.

I ask myself questions like:

Where is my head at right now?

What am I feeling?

What do I need?

What’s been weighing on me?

Sometimes I get answers.

Sometimes I don’t.

But even when I don’t, I understand my feelings a little better.

It’s a form of checking in, instead of pushing through on autopilot.

And that awareness changes everything.

I think we underestimate how much the small things matter.

A good week isn’t built on grand transformations.

It’s built on the quiet habits that keep you steady.

Planning. Consistency. Movement. Grounding. Reflection.

These are my current non negotiables, and they’re helping me create weeks that feel more intentional, more balanced, and more like the life I want to live.

Maybe this is your sign to choose a few for yourself.

Just a few things that you refuse to let slip.

Because the weeks add up. And so do the habits.
